the slaughter of innocents

This little girl is Nurin Jazlin. She's 8 years old. She has been missing since August 20th. Her family have set up this blog in the hope that someone will have news of her. Please help if you can.

Today, the police found the body of a little girl, who they judge to be between 6 to 9 years of age. The poor child had been sexually assaulted and then murdered. Read the story here. The parents of Nurin Jazlin confirmed that it was not their daughter - but that doesn't make it better. The point is, she is somebody's daughter. She's somebody's baby. At this point we don't know who she is. But that doesn't make her death less horrific.

What kind of world are we living in,

where such things can happen to our babies?

What kind of monster is capable of this

What will we do with him if we catch him?

Will she too be forgotten, as so many of

our Malaysian victims are?

i want to lock my daughter up,

and never let her out of my sight.

i want to lock all our daughters up

first it was blown up murder victims.

now it is the slaughter of innocents.

seems to me that regardles of

whether this country has reached the status

of developed nation

or not

our criminals have caught up

with their more developed counterparts.

it seems, Malaysia Boleh, after all.
