1st Quarter recap

You know, i don't really know how it happened, but they are telling me that the 1st quarter of the year is almost over and done with. finito. it looks like we're well into 2007, and there's no turning back. obviously there's some thing fishy going on here, because otherwise how did the days speed by so fast? i just know there's someone out there with a remote that can fast forward the days, and this is why we just entered 2007, but are suddenly up to our armpits in April... tsk tsk tsk...

so anyway, i went and sat down and tried to think of some notable things that we have achieved in this first quarter, and came up with this short list:

1. for the first time in the history of this firm, we fired someone (Rin) in January.
2. being on a roll, we fired someone else in february (Balan, our driver who was challenged in so many ways, not the least being, directionally.)
3. we hired a new driver in march, and he went on to set a new record in our office, as the speediest ex-employee we ever had, seeing as how he started in the morning, and had disappeared by 4pm, having first put a dent in my car...
4. i won both my cases (that came up for decision) this year. Yay!
5. Estherrani joined us and was swiftly redesignated as our first admin assistant.
6. kavi has set her wedding date as december 8th.
7. all of us seem to have misinterpreted the terms of the weight loss competition that we joined up for. with the exception of kavi, everyone else seems to have put on weight, instead of losing it...
8. avinash, mehala's baby has turned one!!?!!! when did this happen you ask? she was just pregnant yesterday... there's a song you know...

Sunrise, Sunset (Fiddler on the Roof)

Is this the little girl I carried? Is this the little boy at play?

I don't remember growing older When did they?
When did she get to be a beauty? When did he get to be so tall?

Wasn't it yesterday When they were small?

Sunrise, sunsetSunrise, sunset Swiftly flow the days
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze

Sunrise, sunset Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears
What words of wisdom can I give them? How can I help to ease their way?

Now they must learn from one another Day by day

They look so natural together
Just like two newlyweds should be
Is there a canopy in store for me?

Sunrise, sunset Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly flow the days
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze
Sunrise, sunsetSunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears

------

Nice isn't it. It is to be noted that apart from this song, that film was notable for having a character named, apparently, Perchik... as in Ayam Perchik... tsk tsk tsk. obviously some food mad malaysian was secretly involved in the screenplay...

Anyway, this recap has been brought to you by the letters S, for sunrise and sunset, and P, for perchik (obviously). and also by the number 1 (for avinash's age)
