Bloggers United. No Fear

Y'all know i don't like to rant, but sometimes i just don't know what is going on in this country. When we have come to a state where NSTP is suing prominent bloggers Jeff Ooi and Rocky for (inter alia) libel, i don't really know what to think.

i am glad to report however that we here at this office, cancelled our subscription to the bloody newspaper in late december - which just goes to show you that we are far thinking visionaries -- who can incidentally tell when a newspaper isn't telling us about books that are being stopped at Johor Bahru ... which is another thing that has been making me foam at the mouth recently....

At this point i would quote SilverfishWriters who said:

"Truth is, we know very well how things happen (and or don't happen) in this country. Don't rock the boat; accept all humiliation, every injustice, live in disgrace and make money. Dignity is for losers. That should be our national motto."

And it really should be our motto, don't you think? This in essence is what we are. Not the possessors of the biggest roti canai in the world, or the almost tallest building in the world, or the longest satay in south east asia - but the possessors of the least dignity, who can put up with any and all shit passed on to us by our beloved leaders all in the name of national peace and racial harmony.

Honestly if not for the fact that we are also undoubtedly the owners of the best nasi lemak, char koay teow and banana leaf cuisine in the world, i would have jumped on that boat a long time ago, to a place where the least i could do was to discuss honest issues in the blogosphere without the evil forces out there suing me for libel... or better yet, where i could pick up a daily newspaper, and actually get the news, without all the bullshit stirred in, and the actual news removed because it was too sensitive for delicate ole me...

so anyway, bloggers united. no fear.
