News

And we bring you the news as at 8th February:

headlines:

mehala's fibroid

bani's three hundred thousand

shanti's new job

and the top news of the month is of course that we have won our second case for the year, and got bani (our client) a court award for three hundred and forty thousand ringgit. at this point i'm sure you're saying "Fuiyoh" and i have to say i agree - give it up for the industrial relations department everybody and let's say YAY (or fuiyoh, depending on your taste of course. over here we are firm believers in the freedom of choice). special mention goes to mehala who wrote the winning submission and ms (who didn't write it) - we didn't have the heart to do the victory jig as mehala is not here to participate in it...

which brings us to her fibroid or rather her ex-fibroid... she had an operation on the 21st of January, whereupon they removed her ex-fibroid and her ex-appendix... now the poor thing is unfortunately appendix-less. the misery of it all...

she is also on medical leave until the beginning of march, which means we are shorthanded and have no one to have tea with and no one for kavi to fight with. she tries to quarrel with me, but you can see that her heart isn't in it and she's just trying her best to jolly along everyone's spirits. we miss mehala everyday.

for other news of interest, due to a door reshuffle (as opposed to a cabinet one), shanti is now our new receptionist and madhavi is now our secretary in the main office (hurrah for both of them). pending the purchasing dept (ms) requisitioning the purchase order for madhavi's pc table, she is temporarily relocated in mehala's cubicle. madhavi hates it as it at the forefront of the cockroach wars (see below) - in fact it would be true to say that madhavi's move there precipitated the said wars as the were happily co-existing in the cubicle until madhavi turned up and called in the troops...

weather report:

it is blazing hot outside. blazing seems to be an understatement but i can't seem to be able to think of the other word i want (which is on the tip of my tongue) to describe it - probably due to the pounding headache i have b'cos of this heat. the good news is we are able to save on gas, as we are able to fry our eggs on the sidewalks (see not only weather report, but cooking tip as well - sort of a 2 in 1), but for some reason, egg ala pavement does not seem to be to anyone's fancy...

no sports news today as neither gitanjali nor shan (our resident sports people) are in ...
