thursday

thursday...

all of us were in court today. mehala, kavi and i had breakfast at the colonial cup with devi and alan (some industrial court lawyers)... kavi was a champion - she obtained order in terms of my client's petition for divorce. apparently the judge (the family court judge) told her that all marriages are made in heaven...

countdown: one more working day for shan (as of tomorrow)

phrase of the day: ex officio - is defined as "by virtue of one's office" - now confess - did you actually know that was what it meant exactly? bet you didn't...
know this - i am the ex officio goddess of this office

word of the day: to forbid or debar authoritatively, which is what a local university has done to one of our clients. we are obviously going to sue their socks off - but can't tell you more, as the bar council (and legal profession act) interdicts us not to reveal confidential information...

kavi is multi-tasking; one of the benefit of working here - you learn to multi task...

prayma, the new clerk is still with us (day 2), so she might hang on...shall keep our fingers crossed

shan is being soppy and reminiscing about good times before he even leaves - we got him all the statutes he needs for the year...now, i know you are wondering how many is that? well you know, it really differs for each individual. we realise that some people can get by on just one or two, whereas some other people can't seem to get enough of them. personally i need about 8 to 13 a year. who knows how many you need? for all i know you don't even have one (you poor deprived thing you...just run out and get some NOW)

shan on the other hand is taking 4 law papers for his final year so he needs 5 essential statutes...
which is how many we got him.

the tea is calling me. kavi is having tea, she doesn't know about you all..
